Inspired by Agriculture and Architecture
This collection has a geometric feel due to the structural inspiration being architecture. The color inspiration is agriculture. One of the pieces is railroaded for aesthetic purposes. Two of the pieces have a more transparent light feel that alludes in texture to agriculture. For structure I manipulated the needle beds to mimic geometric shapes. I utilized the geometric aesthetic for color blocking as well.
Inspired by Graffiti
This collection includes pieces created on the shima seiki, passaps and circular knitting machine. Techniques include plaiting and pointelle. I see this collections end use as apparel. Within this collection is a garment that I did the patternmaking, cutting and sewing for. The textile for the garment was created on the circular knitting machine.
Inspired by Sunset
Imagery of sunsets inspired my color palette. I combined color striping and color mixing with structures such as plain jersey and cross tuck for this collection.
